More than 4,500 PG&E customers remain without power in Solano County Friday morning due to an underground transformer failure Thursday night, a PG&E spokeswoman said.
Shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, about 3,500 PG&E customers lost power in the vicinity of Benicia and Vallejo, PG&E spokeswoman Jana Morris said.
At about 2:45 a.m. this morning a total of 4,555 customers were without power while crews cut off electricity in order to fix the transformer, according to Morris.
The outage was caused by an underground transformer failure that has largely impacted the areas around Rose Drive and Columbus Parkway in Benicia, Morris said.
Customers are expected to have full power restored by 9 a.m., according to Morris.
