Electric cigarettes, those electronic, battery operated cigarettes that vaporize nicotine, rather than burn tobacco, may be regulated or banned in public places by several cities including New York City. Why? Health officials say we don't know enough about the health risks. Proponents of e-cigs say they're not as dangerous to smokers, and do not produce secondhand smoke.
