A pedestrian was injured in an apparent hit-and-run collision in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood Tuesday morning, police and fire officials said.
The incident was reported at 9:46 a.m. near Turk and Leavenworth streets, fire spokeswoman Mindy Talmadge said.
The pedestrian was taken to the hospital, Talmadge said. As of 10:30 a.m. Talmadge did not have information on the extent of the victim’s injuries.
Police spokesman Sgt. Eric O’Neal said the pedestrian is a female.
O’Neal said the suspect vehicle was described as a black SUV, and said it has not yet been found.
He said motorists should avoid the area Tuesday morning because the police investigation will impact traffic
