Police are attempting to locate a suspect who burglarized a Pittsburg home on Christmas Eve, possibly leading to the death of a family dog.
Around 8:20 p.m. on Tuesday, a family returned to their home in the 1300 block of Harbor Street to find that it had been burglarized, according to Pittsburg police Lt. Ron Raman.
The homeowners reported that between the hours of 3 p.m. and 8 p.m., someone had stolen a flat-screen television and several other electronics and personal items, he said.
In addition, the family’s dog, which appears to have fled from the residence during or after the burglary, was found dead a few blocks away from the home.
The dog was struck by at least one vehicle and killed, Raman said.
Police continue to investigate the burglary and are asking anyone with information to call (925) 252-4151.
