A Bay Area family’s Christmas wish has been answered – their abducted 2-month-old kitten has been found safe and returned to them, according to animal care officials.
San Francisco Animal Care and Control shelter spokeswoman Deb Campbell said a hotel manager found the 2-month old kitten, named Arizona, after recognizing her from news reports and contacted the shelter Sunday.
The kitten, with distinctive Siamese-like markings, was adopted and waiting to be spayed prior to moving in with her new family when she was stolen, Campbell said.
Surveillance footage showed two women at the shelter during the abduction.
Arizona was expected to be reunited with her new owners Monday afternoon at the shelter, Campbell said.
